Discover the mountain hare

The color of the mountain hare changes according to the seasons. Its fur goes from gray in summer to white in winter, like the ptarmigan. It is a nocturnal and early-morning animal, so you'll have to rise early to see it in the forests and alpine pastures from 1200 m. In German, it is known as the snow hare.

 How do you see one?

It is difficult to see a mountain hare because of the color of its fur, which blends into the surroundings. The easiest thing to do is try to spot it early in the morning in high mountain forests.
