Discover the chamois

A member of the ibex family, the chamois is nevertheless smaller than the ibex. From birth, their horns grow in an arch, attaining 15 centimeters.

They can be seen from 700 to 3000 m in areas of rocky debris and on steep slopes, where it demonstrates its legendary agility. Chamois live in herds, generally led by a female.

 

 

 How do you recognize one?

Chamois are recognized by their black fur in winter, which changes to a "chamois" color in the summer season.

It can be differentiated from the ibex by its small, backward-curving horns.
