The via ferrata
Halfway between hiking and climbing, the via ferrata is an exciting activity that can be done with full safety and is accessible to supervised beginners. Equipped with a climbing harness and two tethers (two short ropes equipped with carabiners), you will scale the rocky walls: rope bridges, ladders, overhangs and other dizzying passageways are awaiting you!
Where?
Via ferrata of the Pont du diable (10 mn from Bramans): 7 routes, including 2 for children, lasting from 45 mn to 3 hours, with ratings from easy (PD) to difficult (D+); interest: fortified site of the Esseillon, variety of the routes, catwalks, overhangs, rope bridges.
Via ferrata du Pichet at Val Cenis Lanslevillard: one adult/child (second part) route, lasting 1.5 hours, rated easy (PD); interest: large ladder, suspension bridge.
Via ferrata d’Andagne: two adult/child routes, lasting 3 hours with a difficult rating (D); interests: verticality, rope bridges, arrival in a field of edelweiss.
How much?
Starting from 30 to 39 €/person for a half-day (supervision and equipment included).
Material rental: from 9 € (climbing harness, helmet, tether).
The via cordata
The via cordata is close to climbing and the via ferrata.
You climb rock walls with the help of regular fixed protection points (every 2 or 3 meters), rungs and steps. The via cordata is done by twos with full climbing equipment.
An approach to climbing that is both sportive and fun, accessible even to supervised beginners.
