Discover the blueberry

The blueberry plant is also called mountain vine and grows at an altitude from 500 to 1800 meters.

It blooms from April to July and the fruits, which are green at the start, become violet then blue-black; they are ready to be picked and eaten in August.

Sweet-tasting blueberries are eaten fresh or cooked. Blueberry pie or blueberry jam are specialties of the Savoy region.

The berries and leaves of the plant also have numerous nutritional and medical benefits.
