Discover the chamois

A member of the same family as the ibex, the chamois is nonetheless smaller. From birth, the black horns of the chamois grow back in a curve, attaining a final length of 15 centimeters.

Chamois can be observed from 700 to 3000 meters in rocky scree and on precipitous slopes, where they demonstrate their legendary agility. Chamois generally live in herds led by a female.

 How do you recognize one?

Chamois can be identified by their black fur in winter, which turns to a light chestnut "chamois" color in the summer season.

They can be differentiated from the ibex by their small black, curved horns.
